In order to expedite your project, please follow these guidelines when submitting digital art files.
DIGITAL ART
Digital art files come in two broad categories, vector and raster.
VECTOR files (preferred) are line drawings created in illustration programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel DRAW!, MacroMedia Freehand or Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) programs like Autodesk's AutoCad. The drawings in these files can be resized without loss of quality and contain the information our technology needs to better reproduce your artwork.
RASTER images, commonly know as "bitmpa" files are created when an image is scanned, taken from a digital camera or created in an image editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photo Paint, Painter, etc. Raster images need to be digitized ("converted") into vector files we can use, just like traditional artwork after it has been scanned. Consult with your account representative regarding artwork charges.
FILE SET-UP
- Please convert fonts to vector ("outline" in Illustrator, "curves" in Corel DRAW!, "paths" in other programs), or be sure to include the fonts with your graphics files.
- Include a hard copy (printout), or a JPG, for reference.
- Colors must be either specified or called-out directly in the file or hard copy. Color call-outs should include color name and/or number and color system used (i.e. PMS412, MAP 41-313). "Pulling" a color reference (PMS or other) from CMYK colors in a file is not a reliable color reproduction method.
- We are PC based, but we can open Mac files. However, if you are submitting a Macintosh file, please let us know what program you used to create it, or add the corresponding file type extension (".ai" for Adobe Illustrator, ".cdr" for Corel Draw, ".eps" for Encaspsulated Post Script).
- Please name your files with a name unique to your company, instead of just "logo" or Logo.eps."
- If submitting the file by e-mail, please include contact inforamtion (name, company name, telephone numbers) and a descriptive subject line.
